Children - Adolescents

Counselling for Children and Adolescents is a safe and comforting space for the young person to express, explore and learn. The counsellor's focus is on the young person and the parents/ caregivers to help the child/ adolescent cope with the challenges they face, learn new skills, adapt better to their challenges and grow through it to be more fully themselves. The counsellor typically also works with the parents/ family to help them care for their child/ adolescent.

When to seek counseling for your child or teenager

Counselling can be helpful for the child or adolescent you are caring for when:

- There are behavioral issues or changes in behavior that are troubling you and/ or the child
- You are concerned about the child's social skills, learning abilities or other matters
- There has been a crisis and it is hard for the child to cope
- You observe certain patterns and you need help in your attempts to understand and support the child
- The child is going through something which she finds it hard to share with you, and you wish for her to have a confidential setting she can use to process what is happening with her
